Balance/Vestibular Rehabilitation at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital
Our balance/vestibular rehabilitation program benefits patients experiencing dizziness, those with neurological problems, and geriatric patients with a history of falls. Our highly trained and experienced staff pocess specialty certifications in balance and vestibular disorders.
Vestibular Rehabilitation Treatments
- Balance Master, a computerized evaluation and training tool, used to distinguish between somatosensory, visual and vestibular aspects of balance and determine the most appropriate treatment regimen.
- Benign Paroxismal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) assessment and treatment. Specific postional testing used to determine if balance problems are linked to inner ear dysfunction.
- Perceptual-motor assessment, strengthening and compensatory skills training and information on how to adapt their environment to meet their needs.
- Testing to determine vestibular deficits, peripheral vs. central and improvement capabilities.
